A small, plastic-free café where teff waffles, sourdough and slow coffee bring the neighborhood together — every single morning.
Enitewawek started as a two-table breakfast counter and grew into the gathering spot our neighbors now call home. Everything on the menu is made from scratch, from the sourdough starter to the kombucha in the fridge, with fresh ingredients sourced as close to Addis as we can find them.
We run the café as an eco-friendly kitchen — cleaning and reusing containers where we can and keeping single-use plastic out of the building. Next door, our sister studio hosts yoga and Ethiopian dance classes, and inside there's a play corner for the kids and a shelf of books for anyone who wants to stay a while.
"Our favorite café in the city — we come almost every weekend for the food and the atmosphere. It's small, but they always find a way to fit us in, and the owners feel like family."
"Amazing place where you can get coffee with oat milk, sourdough bread and kombucha. Breakfast and lunch are both delicious, and the staff are unfailingly friendly and caring."
"Unique food options and great quality. I had the teff waffle and a lime-ginger juice — every brunch dish came with a complimentary side, and the juice even came with a date."
"Home away from home — I love the overall vibe. Delicious, healthy food, friendly staff and great music. There's a play area for kids and books to read. A true hidden gem in Addis."
"Such a lovely place — very friendly owners, and the variety of healthy, cultural dishes makes it awesome. There's a dance and yoga studio next door. Highly recommend."
"One of my favorite places in Addis. Delicious, healthy food, the best iced latte in town, and a lovely spot for a leisurely meal. Their dance classes next door are great fun too."
We're a small room, so weekends fill up fast — come early or ask about a table for later in the morning.
